Rupert became Vicar of Holy Trinity in 2003 having been Rector of St. Paul's in Salisbury and previously on the staff of St. Aldates Church, Oxford and St. Barnabas, West Kensington.
Rupert writes “I was very fortunate to train under inspiring leaders who instilled a quiet confidence that when we faithfully point people to Jesus, He draws people to himself. Here at H.T. we regularly see people coming to know Christ personally for the first time, and people who already know him getting to know Jesus better. There's nothing more wonderful or transformational than that.”
Teaching from the Scriptures and enabling God's people to live Spirit filled lives is at the heart of what Rupert does. He loves to equip and envision folk to be lifelong followers of Christ and effective leaders. Rupert combines local Church leadership with speaking engagements outside Cambridge in the UK and abroad, (past engagements have taken him to Australia, Tanzania, U.S.A, Zambia and Shepton Mallet.) In the Autumn of 2018 Rupert will be leading “The Caleb Course” at Holy Trinity, a course he authored to train and equip followers of Christ to become more fruitful and effective disciples.
Rupert became a follower of Christ whilst at Exeter University in 1980. On graduating he was an Insurance Broker in the City, a career that he left in order to train for ordination at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford. Rupert enjoys family life; he is married to Liz and they have two adult children. Given any spare time he enjoys photography, watching Test cricket, going to concerts (classical), playing the piano (rustily), walking the dog, and Westwing.
In February 2016 Rupert was appointed Chaplain to The Queen.
Oli is Associate Vicar of Holy Trinity and oversees the adult ministries of the Church (including Pastoral Care, Home groups, Weddings/Funerals etc). Oli makes Church fun and he loves helping people to experience that knowing Jesus and belonging to the family of HT adds sparkle to life! If you are new to HT be sure to say Hi to Oli.
Oli is married to Loïs and they have three children Amélie, Annabelle and Eliza. Prior to being ordained Oli headed up the Youth work at St Aldates Church in Oxford for many years and also New Wine Youth. In July 2015, after training for ordination at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford he joined the staff of HT. Work and family life take up a lot of Oli’s time, given a free moment Oli enjoys spending time with friends, having people over for a meal and watching a good box set with Lois.
Stuart heads up the Student ministry at HT together with Ellie Freeman. He knows Cambridge well having studied at Selwyn College (Chemistry) and worked in the city for an innovation consultancy company using his science background. For many years Stuart’s passion has been seeing God at work in people’s lives and helping people understand how the Bible connects with and informs everyday life. He trained for ordination in Bristol at Trinity College and upon ordination returned to Holy Trinity, where he had worshipped as a student and worked for a time as Pastoral Assistant.
Stuart is married to Yanah. In any spare time he enjoys playing sports, including table tennis, par 3 golf, and croquet (his rugby days are over); reading, particularly theology; and is an avid cinema goer. He is also a great fan of barbeques, whatever the season, which might have something to do with his South African heritage.
Saisha joined the staff team in 2017 after moving back to Cambridge following living in London and heading up operations for various food and drink companies. Along with the rest of the central team, Saisha oversees the operations of HT with the core mission of seeking to resource, facilitate and equip the ministry of HT. Saisha is married to James. In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach whatever the weather, cooking and entertaining.
Ed joined the staff team in 2009 after 3 years studying Politics at Downing College. Along with Angus, he oversees the music and tech team of about 40, and the worship life of HT, as we seek to be “a fountain of praise at the centre of town”. Growing up on the South Coast, his passions are Southampton FC and the sea, as well as travel and good food and drink. He has been married to Emily, who also serves on the worship team, since 2012, and they have a daughter, Imogen.
Ellie joined the HT staff team as Student Pastor in September 2013 after working for four years as a Youth and Children’s Pastor in Hertfordshire. Prior to this she graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Theology.
In her spare time, Ellie loves to spend time with family and friends and, having grown up on the South Coast, enjoys nothing more than a day spent at the beach! Ellie also enjoys running and has run a few half marathons for various charities.
She has a passion to see people’s lives transformed by the living God and loves to see Jesus bringing His love, hope and joy to His children.
Steve joined the HT staff team in September 2014 after studying Theology at Queens' College. His fairly average life was blown out of the water when he decided to follow Jesus wholeheartedly in Spring 2007, and his subsequent journey has been far too good to regret.
Steve likes eating roast lamb and chilling in cafes. He'll always jump at the chance to play or watch sport, especially cricket or rugby. Above all Steve is pumped to hang out with young people – to hear about the stuff they love and the people they care about, and to see how God can be involved in it all.
Cat is married to Rick and has two children (Izzy 6 and Benji 4) who are now at school so she spends much of her life on the school run and running about after them!
Before becoming a Mum Cat was Curate at Holy Trinity with responsibility for children, youth, and students. She is very excited to be returning to the staff team to work with Corinne and Kez to see the children at HT grow in their relationship with Jesus, so that they each know Him and His great love for them, while having loads of fun and making wonderful friends.
She also enjoys travelling and is a keen photographer (which her husband and children sometimes find annoying!)
Hannah joined the staff team in 2018 but has been part of HT since she moved to Cambridge as a student to study History at Murray Edwards College in 2015. She loves working with children and young people and is excited about what God is doing in these ministries at HT. Hannah’s main hobby is playing cricket, which she has done all her life and absolutely loves. She also enjoys walking, calligraphy and lettering, and coffee!
Iona joined the HT staff team in 2017 after being part of the HT Church family since 2013 while studying French and Spanish at Girton College. She spent 8 months in Nicaragua between 2015 and 2016, volunteering at a children’s centre and supporting families. She is passionate about investing in young people and helping them know God’s love for them. Iona is delighted about the opportunity to serve in this way in her role at HT. She also enjoys singing, hiking up mountains and is a beginner (but avid) surfer.
Angus is from Woodford in North London and studied theology at Durham University from 2014-2017. He has been a Christian since he was 12 and loves to worship God through singing. He feels so privileged to work for HT and his dream is to see a revival of faith and worship in Cambridge!
Emily began working at HT during summer 2017 after graduating from studying maths at Cambridge. She loved attending the church as a student and is hugely looking forward to caring for both new and returning students. She is excited to see them grow in faith! Emily has seen God’s goodness in her life in so many ways but is thrilled that there is even more to see. One of her loves is singing, and she has been lucky enough to travel widely on various chapel choir tours. She is from Edinburgh and loves all things Scottish, however English she appears!
Tom joined the HT Staff Team in 2017 having been a member of the congregation since 2015 while studying engineering at Cambridge. Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Damian is married to Fran, and dad to Melissa, Jack, and Tilly. By God's grace, he became a Christian through the Alpha course 15 years ago. He is an avid fan of super stories shared either through print or on screen. He is most excited when Man Utd play an attractive style of attacking football.
Nathan joined HT’s staff team after finishing his degree in Theology at Queens’ College in summer 2018.
