Prayer

When Charles Spurgeon's ministry was at its height and his congregation was a thousand plus, he would take visitors to visit a small room. In it would be a small group of people praying and he would say proudly "This is the engine room". We want to make prayer a similarly high priority here at HT because prayer moves the hands that move the World- without prayer, we can't engage in what God is doing.

Regular prayer meetings:

Sundays
9:00 - 9:20am before the morning service. Meet in the Vestry.
6:00 - 6:20pm before the evening service. Meet in the Vestry.

Tuesdays
7:30 - 8:15am (term-time only). Meet in the Church.
With a focus on worship and intercession (often at the same time) and a special emphasis on interceding for a season of seeing the lost come back to the Lord, and an outpouring of the Spirit's power.  If those are things that you'd love to see, join us until 8:15, when we all go for breakfast together.  In term time, but we'd especailly love to see non-students join us to seek God.

Wednesdays
7:30am prayer breakfast. Meet in the Church.

Many of us find prayer difficult, so why not join the Wednesday morning group? We meet at 7.30 for a brief Bible reading and comment, then pray for HT and for members of the church and staff. We think also of other needs here in Cambridge and in the wider world, then have an optional breakfast at 8:15.  Come for a taster, join us regularly if it helps, be an encouragement to others.

"You often feel that your prayers scarcely reach the ceiling; but, oh, get into this humble spirit by considering how good the Lord is, and how evil you all are, and then prayer will mount on wings of faith to heaven."

Charles Simeon
