New Creations

This is a group for mums of children aged newborn to the end of primary school. New Creations meets on Wednesday mornings during school term-time from 10-11:30am at Holy Trinity Church on Market Street.

Each week begins with coffee and cake, before starting the main session with an organised activity for the parents. Activities range from baking, to crafts, to hearing a speaker talking on a relevant and helpful topic. Every week there is a two-minute "thought for the day", usually given by a regular member of the group. To see the current term card, please click here.

The babies and young children have fun in the crèche and children’s group run by wonderful volunteers. The volunteers are members of Holy Trinity, are DBS checked, and follow the Diocesan Child Protection guidelines.

New Creations is led by Cat Meakin, Noemi Simmons, Lucy How and Sarah Reynolds. To receive a weekly e-mail letting you know what is happening, please email

A crèche and a group for children aged between 18 months to 4 years is provided to look after the children so the adults can enjoy their session. The older children have free playtime, and singing, a story time and a craft. Our volunteers are DBS checked, and we follow the Diocesan Child Protection guidelines.

The leaders would love to support anyone who attends New Creations by praying for them, so please do grab one of them during coffee time. No prayer request is too big, too small or too silly!

Enjoying being a Mum but wondering when you might get to exercise your brain in some directions other than the next feed or sleeping patterns? Then think about joining some other Mums on a Alpha Course.

This is a fabulous way to examine some of the bigger questions of life in a friendly fun atmosphere whilst taking no more than an hour each week. Join us, with absolutely no commitment to have to come back the following week.

We'll watch a short but really stimulating talk on DVD and then discuss what we think about the topic. If you prefer to just come and sit and listen - that's cool too.

Previous Mums doing this course have been really surprised by how much they enjoyed thinking about some quite big topics like who is Jesus? Why did he have to die? Does God heal today? Isn't Christianity boring, irrelevant and untrue?

Find out more about Alpha here.

Have you ever read the bible, or have you read it but been confused by it? An easy way to start is the daily thought from HTB. Have a look here!
