Giving

Giving

Holy Trinity Church, Cambridge, is a registered charity, totally dependent on the generous gifts from individuals who financially support our worship and work here to enable the work of God to flourish and grow.

Giving to support the ministry of the Church is a vital part of our worship. All the staffing costs, running costs of the buildings and resources for ministry are funded by voluntary giving.

All finances are managed by a small Finance Committee under the direction of the PCC (Parochial Church Council). Unless otherwise requested by the donor, the PCC designates ten percent of all voluntary income received by the church to mission work worldwide.

Give regularly

  • By far the easiest and most effective way to give is to set up a Banker's Standing Order. Please either pick up a form at the back of church or e-mail the Finance Officer for details of how to set up a Standing Order online.
  • The Weekly Envelope Scheme is particularly helpful for those preferring to donate cash. The church office will issue dated envelopes for each tax year which can be placed in the offertory plate during any of the services or handed in at the office at other times. Please contact the Finance Officer for further details.

Other ways to give

  • A regular collection is taken at all Sunday services.
  • If you would like to send us a cheque or a Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) voucher, please send it to the Finance Officer at the address below and make it payable to Holy Trinity PCC.
  • There are two Interest Free Loans schemes in operation at Holy Trinity - please contact the Finance Officer for more information.
  • You may also like to consider making a donation to Holy Trinity in your will. Please ask your solicitor when you make or change your will, or ask us for more information.

Tax Efficient Giving

  • If you pay UK tax (Income or Capital Gains Tax) and would like us to be able to claim back the basic rate tax, you will need to fill in, sign and return to us (at the address belwo) an ongoing Gift Aid declaration if you have not done so already. The benefit to HT is that it can recover the basic rate of income tax, currently 28p for each pound given. (If you pay higher rate tax, you may recover this through your own tax return.)

If you have any questions on these or other ways of giving, please contact the Finance Officer  via e-mail or at:
